Today we had a due guest speakers, their names being Al Jones and Callum Peters. They spoke of their experiences within the BBC user experience and design centres, and how they got to where they are today. Callum Peters started us off with his pathway after studying at the university of Chester. Callum illustrated how big the BBC spread and how many households use the BBC's services (330 million). Callum goes into detail about his partner, Al Jones. Al runs the training scheme for the BBC's user design team, he helped to design the user experience for the BBC's mobile app and website. Callum illustrated that he was apart of the team who designed the bite size app. They both participated in the redesign for the news round website.

Callum explained that through out his school days he was very into design but struggled to apply it, at this point he realised that he was going to study the subject to gain the ability to apply it within his life. Callum studied graphics at university and went on to work for an independent publishing company that created adverts for the back pages of magazines, but this fell short due to its dull nature. Callum moved onto get a website design role with Blueleaf, creating websites for Redbull, Laura Ashley and travel EX.
Al Jones went on to explain his role within the BBC as their design team recruiter. Al explained that all students are different and the way we pressent our work is the way we set ourselves aside from the rest of the university. Both Al and Callum filled me with confidence, although I wouldn't like to work for a huge company like the BBC right now, doesn't mean i've locked myself off from it later down my career path. Callum has shown me that although I lack experience, doesn't mean I lack the skill or confidence that companies are looking for.
