Today we had our final guest speaker called Wynne McCoy. Wynne and her partner are long established merseyside photographers who have freelanced for many different companies. They spread across multiple genres of photography from city life and community interaction of the merseyside, to the wilderness of Pennine way, Offas dike and Pennine bridal way. They have done a wide range of work for natural England and British waterway.

Wynne McCoy illustrated that getting started and gaining connections was difficult for them. They explained that the more people you call, the more likely you are to gain at least a few connections. Wynne made it clear that personal work is just as important to companies as commissioned work in your portfolio. Wynne McCoy boost my mentality towards being a freelance designer as she told us to take every chance as it comes whether it isn't in your interest its still going to get you more and more connections within the design area. Although freelance design isn't something that I want to do yet, as I want to gain more experience as a designer, following Wynne's advice, Will ensure my success when I become a freelancer.
